The Latin Quarter

Located in the city centre of Galway’s vibrant ‘Latin Quarter’ The Quays is one of Galway’s most famous and historic drinking establishments. For close on 400 years The Quays has catered to both Galwegians and visitors to our city. Our restaurant offers a carvery lunch and night-time a la carte dinner.

On the ground floor we have a myriad of sections in split-level design featuring the Horsebox, the Mezzanine, the Restaurant and the Library. Wandering through the bars you will notice the abundance of church artefacts: arches and a stained glass window. The most popular bar for our regular local customers is ‘The Old Bar’ where you will find traditional music most evenings.

The upstairs Music Hall is set in the traditional vein on a split-level design. A huge church organ forms a spectacular backdrop to the Stage. You will also discover an authentic railway footbridge that has been restored and now overlooks the stage in a most resplendent manner.

Glor Tire (a talent competition for Country & Western singers) is filmed by Irish TV station TG4 in our Music Hall. Our Music Hall is open 7 nights a week in Summer time featuring both local and international bands.
